The Rondue Revolution

The Rondue was invented by our very own Sean Satterley. Here's his story:
"The idea for Rondue began while I was on a skiing holiday and noticed a group of friends using a Pierre Chaude – a heated volcanic stone that's brought to the table and used to cook food. What struck me was how much they were enjoying themselves, sharing the experience not just of eating, but of cooking and creating combinations of food together.
When I got home, I started playing around with tabletop cooking ideas with my family. We tried a range of ideas, but they were either too small, or required food that was too rich for everyday eating. That was when I started to sketch out ideas for my own invention. There must be a way, I thought, to create a gadget that could cook healthy food for a whole family at the table to free up the cook from the kitchen. I also wanted to fuel it with something eco-friendly, rather than the smelly methylated spirits that other gadgets use.
Well, it took a lot of tinkering, and a lot of help from the product design department of The University of East London, but after a few prototypes we perfected the Rondue. Now we're patent protected and available to buy – it's a dream come true for me and I just hope everyone enjoys their Rondue as much as we do!"
